Barwon Heads - Bellarine Trip March 24-25 2018
The weekend started early, Joe Perri, Tony Valier-D'abate, and myself arrived Friday and fished the afternoon at Point Richards with little success. The water was dirty and not good for squid. We ended the day with 2 flatties and 1 whiting. We were back at Joe's place for dinner & a relax as we waited for other club members to arrive.
Saturday morning we woke to thunder and lightning, and after checking the weather forecast we decided to hit the Barwon River around lunchtime. The major it of members fished in the same area with some good results - a mixed bag of fish, including elephant fish, whiting, mullet, and small flathead. Also a special mention to Atillo DiCori & grandson who came down for the day as well. We enjoyed a great communal dinner, with drinks and stories exchanged.
Sunday morning proved to be too windy, so we packed up, cleaned up, thanked Joe for his hospitality, and headed home. Looking forward to the next trip together.
