This weekend's competition at Camperdown was a little bit of a let down as far as fish numbers was concerned but the company of the members who fished the competition was great. We initially had 18 entries but as the weather deteriorated so did the numbers. I must take my hat off to the members who took the opportunity to fish Lake Bullen Merri for limited results.
Saturday proved to be the pick of the days as seven fish were caught. Interestingly enough all fish were rainbow trout.
Stan Petkovic managed three of the seven fish with Bernard Harris and Ken Ely both with two fish each. On the Sunday Stan added one more Rainbow trout to his bag whilst the rest of us produced zero.
The most productive method was using pink and orange power bait from the bank. Other methods used by the members were fly fishing and trolling. Good sized fish were seen at the 30 meter mark but couldn't be tempted to take a lure from a number of boats trolling. On a good note Pedro Arvy has made it his policy to not weigh any fish in. I wonder if that changes when he actually lands a fish?
I would like to thank all the members who fished Camperdown for their camaraderie and help over the weekend. It was a most enjoyable trip.
