Howqua Lodge working bee, November 2015

26th - 28th November 2015

Ten members volunteered for a working Bee at Howqua to do maintenance before the summer. Lots of grass was cut, the deck was oiled along with general cleaning and many smaller repairs and maintenance. The Saturday evening BBQ organised by John Costa was a highlight of the trip and good way to unwind after a hard day on the tools. The steaks and shasliks were fantastic.

It was great to have new members Gary Short and Rhys Rech pitching in to assist the regulars. Thanks to all the members that volunteered their time and effort.

John Costa stayed on a the lodge to see in the Cod opening and went out for a trial run on Sunday afternoon and was rewarded with a 76cm Murray Cod taken on one of his home made lures. The fish being oversize and out of season is enjoying his freedom back in the Lake.
