Ten members and four non members ventured to Kyalite for the Easter trip. Fishing was good on Friday and Saturday in fine conditions and although Sunday was the same weather conditions fishing was poor (possibly due to the eclipse of the moon on Saturday night). Members did not fish on the Monday as the forecast was for rain and it was decided to leave earlier rather than have to stay a couple of extra days had we been caught in bad weather.
Thirty two yellowbelly were caught in total with eighteen of them coming from the Wakool river as was the heaviest of 2.5 kg cleaned weight caught by Daniel Trafford.
The other fish were taken from the Edward River along with plenty of murray cod up to 55cm which were returned to the water.
Peter Patterson is leading for the trip with a bag of 8 for 9.045 kg cleaned weight, second is Daniel Trafford with a bag of 6 for 7.820 kg followed by Ross Halligan with a bag of 3 for 3.645 kg. All members on the trip caught a fish.
Richard Higlett won the “tool of the trip” when he hooked himself in the finger and had to drive himself to the Swan Hill hospital via Balranald. He got back to camp at midnight.”
