Marlo Comp 22-25 February 2019
The first day, Friday, was a bit slow with members finding the entrance closed and the water high. Members split up between the inlet and Brodrib River in the clearing light rain, with six of the twelve members having success landing thirteen fish.
Saturday faired not much better with twenty fish between eleven members, mostly Tailor from the inlet. Two members tried the surf returning with four fish. Saturday Night most attended the local for a good feed and some elbow bending.
The breeze gained momentum on Sunday with members seeking shelter along the Brodrib river resulting with only two size Tailor being landed.
Monday saw only one member, Dave Fairy, venture down to the surf whilst others packed and headed home, the result being two Salmon and a nice Trevally bringing him from ninth place to second for the trip.
A total of 20 Tailor, 9 Mullet, 2 Trevally, 3 Flathead, 3 Salmon and 1 Bream were landed over the three days for a weight of 13.40kg. Although the fish weren't very cooperative a very enjoyable trip was had by all.
