Feb 9-10th Port Albert inter comp.
Four members headed to our lodge to brave the weekends forecast and keep the tradition going. Every now and then the BOM gets one right and this was to be their weekend to shine.
Saturday as the Coon craft was just about to leave the sky turned a darker grey than it already was and the heavens opened up. The rain came in on a 45 degree angle. The wind picked up and that was it for fishing.
Port Alberts member June cast a line in early at welshpool and caught the winning fish and only fish weighed in.
Saturday nights dinner at Port Alberts clubhouse was excellent as always.
Sunday’s weigh in and lunch get together decided we called it a night and headed back to our lodge. Sunday morning and a look outside confirmed not much improvement on the weather so Pete and myself were happy enough to hang around the lodge. Tony and Dennis headed to the river. They managed to produce a toad each. Fishing done with and all of us back at the lodge we had lunch and declared Port Albert the winners for the second year running.
