18 Members from Preston Northcote Club competed in the NFA Challenge held at Yarrawonga in perfect weather.
We had 4 and a 1/2 teams of 4 anglers per team. Most fished the river down stream of the Weir and some members tried the lake.
Saturday had plenty of undersized fish biting with Murray Cod to 47cm and Trout Cod 30cm released but most were small fish getting to the baits first, however they kept you busy filling in the catch and release sheets for NSW Fisheries. Our teams registered 1 Murray Cod of 83cm, 9 Golden Perch to 53cm and 7 Silver Perch to 38cm.
The overall team champs were our Number 1 team, John, Neil, Andrew and Michael Deveson. Andrew had a Murray Cod of 83cm and a 43cm Golden Perch. John had 2 Golden Perch of 53cm and 47cm. Neil had a 33.5cm Silver Perch and a Golden Perch 37-5cm. Andrew took out the best Murray Cod for the competition.
A great result for P.N.A.C by our no1 team. All fish were released by all Anglers. After the B.B.Q. at the Caravan Park the presentations took place and the Deveson Team stood tall, no pun intended, when they were crowned. All Juniors received a nice lure and other give aways. Well done to N.F.A(VIC) and a team of helpers for the weekend.
Our PNAC Competition had 9 Golden Perch over legal size recorded. John Deveson 2 Golden Perch for 4.140kg after length converted to weight with 10% off. John also had best fish 2.430kg-53cm. Neil Deveson 1 of 0.800kg, Andrew Deveson 3 for 3.510kg, Bernie Harris 1 for 1.800kg, Gary Short 1 for 2.600kg and Jason King 1 for 1.350kgs. A total converted length to weight of 13.9510kg. ALL RELEASED!
Our camp at the Commons, 18 members, 2 wives, 2 partners and 3 children had a good weekend with a great social atmosphere.
