A total of 10 members and 1 non-member fished the Hastings competition on Sunday 11th September 2016 with a total of 4 boats. The members spread themselves about with 2 boats fishing the Hastings area of the last known snapper report, 1 boat fishing the Rhyll area and 1 boat fishing the Corinella area.
Weather conditions although starting out to be reasonable in the early hours did manage to be become a little ordinary with a stiff 14knot North/West by about 9am which did make fishing difficult at times.
The crews fishing the Hastings area F.Calleja, R.Debono & K Banford with George Kapouleas did manage some 4 fish between them consisting of 1 Flathead and 3 Barracouta.
The Rhyll crew consisting of F Mailo, T.Valier D'Bate & J Perri with Carlo (non-member) did not manage to have any weighable fish…(not their day)…But it was the crew which went to Corinella which did manage a nice Snapper of nearly 4 kg caught by Gavin White which saved the day.
Well done Gavin, Steve Gusman &Niki Dukstein. The weigh in was held at the Hastings Ramp on time and concluded with a group photo and everybody returning home.
