Fishing Reports

Howqua Area and Lake Nillahcootie Freshwater competition 9th and 10th December.

16 members and 1 non competitor fished the competition.  The barometer was down low proving it hard to entice fish to bight.   

Saturday produced some nice Murray Cod taken on lure around the Goughs Bay area of lake Eildon.  Richard Higlett landed a 74cm cod @ 6.375kg and Michael Deveson landed a 73cm Cod @ 6.265kg and also released a 63cm Cod.  Neil Deveson landed a nice Yellowbelly @ 2.545kg all caught in lake Eildon.  Other members fished Nillahcootie, John Costa recorded 2 measured fish @ 32 & 42cm, on bait.  Daniel Trafford, Bernie Harris and David Cahir also landed some nice Yellowbelly.

Sunday all members ventured out in the same destinations as the previous day.  Neil Deveson managed to land a nice Cod of 47cm @ 4.700kg.  John Costa recorded 3 more measured Yellowbelly @ 32, 33 & 38cm.  Tony Dorner caught a nice Yellowbelly @ 1.275kg, Daniel Trafford a large Yelowbelly @ 3.085kg, Bernie Harris another Yellowbelly @ 0.425kg and Andrew Deveson a good Yellowbelly @ 1.785 and released a Cod of 78cm.

Total of 20 fish taken, 3 Murray Cod, 16 Yellowbelly and 1 Redfin Thankyou members it was a great trip.
