Howqua Area freshwater comp 14-15 July 2018
10 members attended the Howqua area trip and it was nice to see some of our country members.
Frank went to bed early while the rest rocked through till the early hours on Saturday morning. 2 managed to find new places to sleep, wood shed and beside the water tanks.
Saturday, all members got up early ready to embrace the day's fishing. Wow! it was frosty, everything was white & bone chilling.
The day's temperature was 15° under the beautiful sunshine.
Andrew and Peter fished Mac's cove to caravan park, picking up 4 and 1 brown trout respectively.
Flash caught a Brown Trout in good condition, but Peter's was bigger by a smidgen.
Gavin and John Costa picked up 1 and 3 Redfins respectively from the bank after some running repairs to Gavin's boat.
Saturday's result:
6 Brown Trout
4 Redfins
Heaviest Brown Trout, Peter 680 grams
Heaviest Redfin, John 430 grams
Sunday was cold with the sun poking its head out during the day, the lake was still & flat.
Andrew and Peter, caught 1 and 2 Brown Trout respectively.
Frank collected 3 Brown Trout from Tony's boat.
John and Gavin, 3 and 1 respectively Redfins.

A total of 12 Brown Trout and 8 Redfins were caught for the weekend.

Team work for clean up was outstanding. All left after weigh in at 1pm. A Good Trip.
