Fishing Reports

Khancoban trout fishing

7th - 9th March 2014
by Ken Ely

Poor angling was experienced for the weekend probably because of a high 25 centigrade water temperature in the lake. Apparently the upstream power stations are not operating because of maintenance and cooler flushes have not been happening in the lake for some time. The weather conditions were generally very good.

Six anglers weighed 12 trout for 4.960kgs a result that is rather ordinary considering it is a trophy fish lake. Four of the fish were taken in the river below the outlet. Fish were taken on local mudeyes, trolling and floating worms in the river.
