There were not a lot of rising fish, in fact there are more rising fish at Newlyn at the moment. I tried every blind search technique known to mankind over about 6-7 hours fishing time. Small nymphs and buzzers stripped agonisingly slowly for hours. Floating line and sink tip line. Woolly buggers all colours, minnows in black/green/grey, a damsel nymph even though there were no damsels in sight (1 fish), 2 dries static, 1 dry 1 trailing midge slowly stripped across the surface on dusk.
