Port Albert Report 26-28/01/2019
Ten members and three visitors attended Port Albert for the Australia Day weekend.
Guzzy and Goldie venturing out through the entrance and boating 19 Gummies of which 7 were released. Flathead were a bit light on although Goldie boated an impressive flathead of 68cm weighing 2.25kg. All others fished inside moving about with two members trying their luck at Port Welshpool and Mann’s beach.
The flatties were about but unfortunately not in in good numbers. Two members took a break from tramping the bush to try their luck on the surf at Woodside beach without success. Unfortunately three competitors didn’t get to hit the water due to a health issue.
Goldie was presented with a shark head cake for his birthday.
All who attended had a very enjoyable weekend with Steve Gusman leading the Saltwater comp with a nice bag of Gummies for the weekend followed by Pete Goldsworthy and Daniel Trafford. Dennis finished leading the surf / estuary comp with a bag of 10 flatties followed closely by Tony Coon and Peter Antonello
