Reports of snapper, gummy sharks, and large flathead had been heard leading up to this club outing.
Frank, Peter, Kevin, and John C were able to get away early and made their way to Port Albert safely on Thursday night.
Fishing on the Friday was pleasant with very little wind. The fishing was restricted to inside the inlet. Many areas were fished including the moored boats, the wreck in the Snake channel, the One tree island area, the Blue hole, and the entrance area.
Frank and Peter, found a good patch of Australian salmon working the entrance. The salmon that were caught were mostly at 50cm to 55cm in length.
Kevin Bamford finally had the chance to break his duck and get into some fish. Kevin was able to land a number of salmon on white soft plastics. The smile said it all.
Unfortunately Kevin's motor gave out as we were working our way back to port.
The remainder of members arrived safely on Friday night, unfortunately, Daniel Trafford had issues with his car. Daniel was able to fish the trip out and get home safely.
Both Saturday and Sunday were wipe outs due to the gale force winds, hail, and rain.
Luckily the wind eased over Sunday night and Monday saw a virtually windless day at Port Albert.
Frank, Peter, Dennis, Dave, Daniel, and Julian, fished inside the inlet on Monday for some great results.
Frank landed 20 salmon, Peter landed 13 salmon, and Dennis landed 7 salmon.
Rod K, Jason K, John W, Josh W, John C, and Brandon M headed off shore for mixed results.
John W landed a nice gummy shark of 6.7kilograms, Jason K (aka The Burglar) landed some great flathead. The 2 better flathead of Jason's bag weigh 2.05 kilograms and 1.75 kilograms respectively.
