Seven members entered the competition. Weather conditions forecasted for light winds (4k) cool in morning and light cloud. Alf Breci fished St Leonards Area and caught 9 squid at 2.2kg, one of the squid was a good size.
St Leonards seemed to be the place to fish as Alf nearly produced a bag limit.
Joe Perri and Peter Antonello fish Barwon Heads area and no fish were taken. However Joe and Peter fished the day before and reported some good size squid were taken.
Gavin White fished Flinders area and managed 1 small squid.
John Deveson and Tony Nicolosi fished Point Cook area and caught 1 squid each. 20 or more boats fishing around Point Cook area one boat we could see was finding and catching the squid and others were just picking up one or two for the day.
Best jig colours olive/white/orange, black and purple reported working for the day.
