The 25th - Native Fish Catch & Release Competition Yarrawonga February 2019
Preston Northcote had 3 senior team and 1 Junior team. Fishing in perfect conditions for the weekend.
The Murray river was very busy over the weekend due to a "Dash for Cash" competition in the lake, so our members fished from below the wall down to the "Blue Hole" area.
Fishing was patchy, biting when the wind dropped for the bigger fish and many undersized yellowbelly, trout cod and murray cod released over the weekend kept us all on the ball.
Our 3 teams or half of each team did register some nice Y/B and M/Cod and our Juniors had a 33cm y/b and 41cm Silver perch.
The presentation on Sunday had Native fish No3 team the will with 3,000 points double the nearest team to it with the 4 in the team all had 3 species. Best M/Cod 98cm a great result.
Our Junior Team came in on second place in the Junior section, WELL DONE!
In fine conditions weather and water found some good fish taken most on Saturday and a few on Sunday morning.
All fished the river Saturday and Andrew Brandi added a nice M/Cod Sunday morning from the lake.
Shrimp was the best bait with chicken, sausage, worms etc all tried. For some unknown reason half of our 3 Team members did not register a size fish, not for want of trying.
We registered 11 Y/B and 3 M/Cod for a converted lenght to weight of the released fish less 10% for our competion total 25.020kg
1st D Jennings 5 Y/B for 6.840
2nd A Brandi 2 M/Cod 6.480
3rd N Deveson 2 Y/B 4.860
J Devenson 1 Y/B & 1 M/Cod 4.050
D Trafford 2 Y/B 2.250
